FREEMAN PATTERSON FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHY AWARD/
PRIX BEAUX-ARTS FREEMAN PATTERSON
The Freeman Patterson Fine Art Award Competition is an ideal way to gain valuable exposure for your artwork, increase your confidence, and exhibit your talent. It is also an excellent opportunity to foster your talent and grow as a photographic artist.
What is Fine Art Photography? The term "fine art photography" has no universally agreed meaning or definition: rather, it refers to an imprecise category of photographs, created in accordance with the creative vision of the photographer. The basic idea behind the genre is that instead of merely capturing a realistic rendition of the subject, the photographer is aiming to produce a more personal - typically more evocative or atmospheric - impression. One might simplify this, by saying that fine art photography describes any image taken with a camera where the intention is aesthetic (that is, a photo whose value lies primarily in its beauty rather than scientific (photos with scientific value), commercial (product photos), or journalistic (photos with news or illustrative value).
The Freeman Patterson Fine Art Photography Award competition is open to all members of the Focus Camera Club. By registering and entering the competition you hereby accept these Terms and Conditions: General Guidelines:- Each participant will submit a series of 4 images. Images are looked at as a series and not individually and will be judged as a group.-No Watermarks / Copyright Units / Logos on images/ no borders- Photo submissions must be relevant to Fine Art Photography

BRIAN TOWNSEND ILLUMINATOR AWARD/
PRIX ILLUMINATOR BRIAN TOWNSEND
By Brian Townsend :
A common issue among photographers is the quest for "nice" or "good" pictures. Often this results in technically good images that are weak in emotional content. They look nice, are well composed, have nice colours, etc. but beyond that, don't engage the viewer in any deep or meaningful way. We all do this. Sometimes we just don't have any particular feeling about the subject. Maybe we were just enjoying the graphic design in the subject. But we should also spend more time communicating with our images. I consider it a personal mission to encourage people to think more carefully about what their images are saying, to engage their heart and emotions in the process of image making, to express their feelings such that the viewers can feel the message and understand the story.

Each member can submit up to 3 images.

Each image may be submitted in full resolution
