André LeBlanc’s photographic journey started at a young age when he purchased his first camera, a Polaroid One Step.  He knows it wasn’t the world's best camera by any fetch of the imagination but he found it incredible that he could take a picture and then one minute later see the results. In the early 1980s, while living in the Canadian Rockies, he purchased a Pentax K1000 35mm camera. Then in 2000, he put his old faithful 35mm Pentax on the shelf and took the leap to the digital world. After upgrading many times over the last 15 years, he is now shooting with a Nikon DSLR D7000 and a Nikon Mirrorless J1.

When he bought his Pentax in the early 80’s, he took an introduction to photography course to learn the foundation of photography.  One of his favorite learning resources is Lynda.com where he follows a variety of photography courses on techniques, composition and photo processing with Adobe Lightroom.  He recently completed a photography course led by Maurice Henri in Moncton to reinforce his photographic skills. 

André’s primary fields of interest in photography are nature, landscapes, underwater photography and travel documentaries (which mimics his interest in life). He enjoys travelling and has visited over 25 countries and documented various cultures, people, nature and architecture with his photographs.

He has been a member of the Moncton Focus Camera club since 2013, and has given presentations to club members on several occasions.  He placed second in the year long club competition in 2014-15 season for photographer of the year, and he was the club grand winner of the Ken Dunphy Award for Best Landscape in 2015.

Le parcours d'André LeBlanc en photographie a commencé à une jeune âge alors qu'il s'est acheté sa première caméra, un Polaroid One Step. Il savait très bien que ce n'était pas  la meilleure caméra au monde mais il trouvait cela incroyable qu'il pouvait prendre une photo et qu'une minute plus tard de voir les résultats! Au début des années '80, vivant dans les Rocheuses, il acheta une  caméra 35mm Pentax K1000. Puis en 2000, il mis sa fidèle Pentax sur les tablettes et  fis le saut dans le monde numérique. Après plusieurs mise à niveau dans les dernières 15 années, il photographie maintenant avec un Nikon D7000 DSLR et un Nikon J1 sans miroir.

Au début '80 lorsqu 'il acheta sa Pentax,  il pris un cours d'introduction à la photographie afin d'apprendre la base. Une de ses ressources favorites est Lynda.com où il suit une variété de cours sur la technique, la composition et le traitement d'image avec Adobe Lightroom. Il a récemment complété un cours mené par Maurice Henri pour approfondir ses habiletés photographiques.

Les champs d’intérêt en photographie d'André  sont la nature, les paysages, la photographie

sous marine et les documentaires de voyage (lesquels imitent son intérêt dans la vie). Il apprécie voyager et il a visité plus de 25 pays et documenté divers cultures, peuples, nature et architecture avec ses photos.

Il a été un membre du Club Focus Camera de Moncton depuis 2013, et a donné des présentations au club à plusieurs occasions. Il a terminé deuxième  comme photographe de l'année dans les compétitions du club durant la saison 2014-2015, et il a été le grand gagnant du club pour le prix Ken Murphy pour meilleure photo de paysage en 2015.

Rémi Lévesque decided to buy a “real camera” in 2013, to celebrate his retirement. At that time, he registered for an Introduction to Photography course offered at the NB Community College and joined the Moncton Focus Camera Club.

He participates on a regular basis in the Focus Club’s monthly photo competitions. He has attended three photography workshops led by Don Martel, and he is constantly searching the internet to read everything he can on photography. Remi is a founding member and co-chair for "Du monde de par che nous". This project will be his first challenge with this new art medium. Since day one he has been constantly encouraged and motivated by the works of the other members of the group. 

Rémi particularly likes the reality of street photography as well as macro photography which makes possible to see what most people do not notice.

He is a big fan of the works of Freeman Patterson, Don Martel and Vivian Maier.

Rémi Lévesque s'est décidé de se procurer une ''vraie'' caméra en 2013 pour célébrer sa retraite. A ce moment, il s'inscrit à un cours d'introduction à la photographie offert par le CCNB et joint le Club Focus Camera de Moncton.

Il participe régulièrement  aux compétitions mensuelles du club. Il a participé à trois ateliers de photographie donné par Don Martel, et il recherche continuellement l'internet pour lire tout ce qu'il peut sur le sujet. Rémi  est un membre fondateur  et co-président  du projet ''Du monde de par che nous''. Ce projet sera le premier défi avec son nouveau médium. Depuis le premier jour il a été sans cesse  encouragé et motivé par le travail des autres membres du groupe.

Rémi aime particulièrement  la réalité de la photo de rue ainsi que la macrophotographie qui lui donne la possibilité de voir ce que la plupart des gens ne remarque pas.

Il est un grand admirateur du travail de Freeman Patterson, Don Martel et Vivian Maier.

Jeannette Arseneault has been taking snapshots since she bought her first point and shoot during high school. In July 2013, an opportunity presented itself to take a beginner photography course. This was the start of a new passion. While taking this beginner course, Jeannette bought her first DSLR camera and has been trying to get to know it ever since. In the summer of 2014, she took a course with Paula Lirette, and in the fall of 2015, one with Maurice Henri.

The material from all three courses was basically the same presented from different perspectives and emphasized different aspects. Taking courses from different photographers has helped her learn new techniques while reinforcing those she already knew.

Jeannette enjoys taking pictures of nature, landscape, and action shots but mostly of animals and birds. The Moncton Zoo is a place she visits regularly to indulge in this passion. Another part of her photography is automobiles. Being somewhat of a car enthusiast (highly influenced by her husband), car shows and drag strips are other spots where you can run into Jeannette and her camera gear.

Jeannette Arsenault a pris des clichés depuis qu'elle s'est procurée son premier ''Point & shoot'' au secondaire. En juillet 2013, une opportunité  s'est présentée pour prendre un cours de base en photographie, Cela a été le début d'une nouvelle passion. Durant ce cours, Jeannette acheta sa première camera DSLR et  apprend à mieux la connaître depuis .A l'été 2016, elle a pris un cours avec Paula Lirette, et à  l'automne 2015 avec Maurice Henri.

Le matériel des trois cours était essentiellement le même présenté de différentes perspectives et mettait l'emphase sur différents aspects. Des cours  avec différents photographes l'ont aidé à apprendre de nouvelles techniques tout en renforçant  celles déjà apprises.

Jeannette aime photographier la nature, les paysages, et des photos d'action mais surtout  des animaux et  des oiseaux. Le zoo de Moncton est un endroit qu'elle visite régulièrement pour  satisfaire cette passion. Il y a aussi les automobiles. Étant en quelque sorte une amateur de voitures ( très influencée par son mari)  les salons de l'automobile sont d'autres endroits où  vous pouvez  rencontrer Jeannette et son équipement de photographie.

Monique LeBlanc has always had an interest in photography. In 2014, she moved from a point-and-shoot camera to her first DSLR – a Canon T3i. Wanting to learn how to use her new camera, she took a photography course with Paula Lirette. From there, her interest became a passion. She started bringing her camera everywhere she went and discovered that, with a camera, she viewed the world in a completely different light. It literally changed her world.

The best part of photography has been the people she has met along the way. Walking with a camera in hand is like walking with a dog, it generates great discussions and you end up meeting like-minded people and making new friends. Monique joined the Focus Camera Club in the fall of 2017 and has loved being a part of this group. In her first year as a FCC member, she won Novice Recruit of the year as well as Novice photographer of the year.

Monique LeBlanc a toujours eu un intérêt pour la photographie. En 2014, elle est passée d'un appareil photo point-and-shoot à son premier reflex numérique - un Canon T3i. Voulant apprendre à utiliser sa nouvelle caméra, elle a suivi un cours de photographie avec Paula Lirette. De là, son intérêt est devenu une passion.

Elle a commencé à apporter sa caméra partout où elle allait et a découvert qu'avec une caméra, elle voyait le monde sous un jour complètement différent. Il a littéralement changé son monde. La meilleure partie de la photographie a été les gens qu'elle a rencontrés en cours de route. Marcher avec un appareil photo à la main, c'est comme marcher avec un chien, cela génère de belles discussions et on finit par rencontrer des gens partageant les mêmes idées et se faire de nouveaux amis. Monique s'est jointe au Focus Camera Club à l'automne 2017 et a aimé faire partie de ce groupe. Au cours de sa première année en tant que membre de FCC, elle a remporté le prix de Recrue novice de l'année et celui de photographe novice de l'année.

Jacinthe Leblanc studied photography during her first year at Université de Moncton while enrolled in the Fine Arts program in the early 1980s. She did photography for a few years but somehow life got in the way and it wasn't until 2011, when she took a photography course at NBCC, that her love for photography was re-ignited.

She has been a member of the Focus Camera Club since 2014 where she enjoys participating in the photo contests.

She also won the club’s Photographer of the Year in 2014, 2015, 2016 & 2017. In 2017, Jacinthe won the Freeman Patterson Fine Arts Award. In 2017 she received a honorary mention from CAPA for her entry in the CAPA Annual Challenge.

She particularly likes portrait, street, abstract and underwater photography.

Her favorite photographers, by far, are Vivian Maier, Freeman Patterson, Don Martel and Romeo Cormier.

Jacinthe has presented her photos at various events including a workplace photo exhibit and charity auction in 2014, 2015 and 2016 in support of the United Way, as well as the Focus Camera Club’s photo exhibit at the Moncton Library in 2015. She had several of her photos exhibited as part of the Groupe SocioFoto's project "Du Monde de par Che Nous" (www.groupesociofoto.com). Jacinthe is also co-chair for "Groupe SocioFoto"

She also participated in "La Ligue Musicale" and "Perspective II", both audio-visual presentations featuring the work of fiftheen photographers.

Jacinthe LeBlanc a étudié la photographie durant sa première année au programme en arts visuels de l’Université de Moncton  au début des années '80. Elle a continué en photographie pour quelques années mais pour quelques raisons la vie s'en est mêlée et ce n'est  qu'en 2011, lorsqu'elle pris un cours de photographie au CCNB, que l'amour pour la photographie est revenu.

Jacinthe a présenté ses photos  à divers éventements incluant un exposition en milieu de travail et pour des encans de charité en 2014, 2015 et 2016 en support à United Way, ainsi qu'une exposition du Club Focus Camera à la bibliothèque de Moncton en 2015. Elle a eu plusieurs de ses photos exposées dans le cadre du projet  ''Du monde de par che nous'' du Groupe SocioFoto (www.groupesociofoto.com). Jacinthe est aussi coprésidente de ce groupe.

Elle a aussi participé dans ''La Ligue Musicale'' et ''Perspective II'', deux présentations audio-visuelles  mettant en vedette quinze photographes.

Native of Saint-Quentin, a small town located in the north-west of NB. I lived in the greater Moncton area for more than 20 years.I have always had a great interest in the arts, which led me to complete a bachelor's degree in Visual arts from the Université de Moncton, a college Diploma in Design and multimedia from NBCC, then a photography course in addition to being a member of the AAAPNB for several years.

Je vie dans la région du grand Moncton depuis plus de 20 ans.
J’ai toujours eu un grand intérêt pour les arts, ce qui m ‘a amené à compléter un baccalauréat en Arts visuels de l’Université de Moncton, un diplôme d’études collégiales en Design et multimédia du CCNB, puis un cours de photographie en plus d’être membre de l’AAAPNB depuis plusieurs années.
 

Mathieu started his photographic journey in September 2017 when he joined the Moncton Focus Camera Club. With the help of his peers and a lent camera, he quickly learned the ins and outs of photography by participating in outings and contests through the camera club.

When he bought his first non-point and shoot camera he started challenging himself and shooting more. He loves shooting the Moncton Magic basketball team for which he did many games in 2018 including their team photo.

Through his challenge, he created a small publication titled "A Road to Photography" in which he shares his experience and what he learned through personal challenges as he shares the resulting pictures of his challenge.

Mathieu is also a Canadian Association for Photographic Art (CAPA) member and completed the CAPA National Judging Course in 2018.

Claire has always had that artistic side and taste for photography. She bought her first compact camera when her kids were born. She was hooked from day one. Once her kids grew up, she had more time to spend on her passion for photography and purchased her first DSLR camera 2007.

She took various courses with Dave MacDonald, Maurice Henri and Don Martel and joined the Focus Camera Club last year.  She won a work photo contest at Honeywell in 2010 and one of her photos was featured in the company calendar. She also tied for 1st place in the silhouettes category at the Focus Camera Club contest.

She is most interested in landscapes, abstract, people and travel photography. She likes to read online and learn more technics on how to create beautiful photos. She is very excited to participate in the project ‘’ Du monde par chez nous’’.

Claire a toujours eu ce côté artistique et un goût pour la photographie.  À la naissance de ses enfants, elle s’est achetée son premier appareil-photo compact. Ce fut le coup de foudre. Lorsque ses enfants ont grandi, elle a eu plus de temps à se consacrer à sa passion pour la photographie et en 2007, elle s’achète son premier appareil DSLR.

Elle a suivi divers cours avec Dave MacDonald, Maurice Henri et Don Martel et a joint le Focus Camera Club l’an passé.  En 2010, elle s’est mérité le prix du concours de photographie Honeywell et une de ses photos a été publiée dans le calendrier de la compagnie. Elle s’est également mérité, à égalité, la première position dans la catégorie silhouette du concours de Focus Camera Club.

Elle s’intéresse principalement aux paysages, l’abstrait, les gens et la photographie de voyage. Elle aime lire des articles en ligne et apprendre de nouvelles techniques afin de créer de belles photos.  Elle est très enthousiasme de participer au projet ‘’ Du monde par chez nous’’.

Jocelyne a toujours eu un intérêt pour la photographie. Par contre, c’est seulement durant les dernières années que son intérêt pour la photo est devenu plus grande. Ses intérêts principaux sont les paysages, la nature, la photographie abstraite et la documentation de ses voyages. En 2015, elle participe à un concours de photos organisé à son travail et une de ses photos est maintenant exposée au Centre des pensions du gouvernement du Canada à Shediac.

Jocelyne a suivi des cours/ ateliers avec Lawrence Nicoll, Maurice Henri, Paula Lirette et Don Martel. Elle est membre du Club Focus Camera où elle vient de décrocher une première place dans un de leur concours. Elle aime faire la lecture sur la photographie ce qui lui aide à augmenter ses connaissances et sa technique sur le sujet.  Tout récemment, elle développe un intérêt pour le portait qui s’alignent très bien avec “Du monde de par che nous”.

Jocelyne has always had an interest in photography which has grown over the last couple of years. Her main interests are landscapes, nature, abstract and documenting her travels.  In 2015, she entered a contest at her place of employment and one of her photographs was chosen and is on display at the Government of Canada Pension Centre in Shediac.

Jocelyne has attended courses / workshops with Lawrence Nicoll, Maurice Henri, Paula Lirette and Don Martel. She is a member of the Focus Camera Club and recently won first place in a club contest. She enjoys reading about photography which helps her increase her knowledge and technique on the subject.  Recently, she has developed an interest in portraiture which aligns well with “Du monde de par che nous”.

I am a self-taught photographer. In the last few years I have taken a few workshops with well-known Professional Photographers such as Paula Lirette, Dolores Breau, Maurice Henri, and Don Martel, to name a few. Events & Outings with the Club are another avenues of learning and expanding my photography skills. I believe that anyone that is reluctant in joining a Camera Club should not wait to do so, as I did. I have learned so much since joining in 2017, my involvement with the Club has help builded up my confidence & expand my knowledge of becoming a better photographer.

The Love of our two Golden Retriever pets is when I started photographing animals. Little did I know this was the beginning, and years later would develop in a profound passion to photograph Wildlife of all kind and study their behavioural as well. Things in motion are always a challenge to photograph but what a reward it is when you capture that moment. I also enjoy Cityscapes, Architecture; Events…anything that will catch my eye will get my Focus!

My enthusiasm and passion for photography continues to grow and I keep learning! I have learned a lot and experienced different photo opportunities since becoming a Member of the Focus Camera Club! My Passion for Photography and Animals go Hand in Hand! For the Love of Life….Take Time to Look Around and You Shall See What You're Missing…!

Ira Crummey is a “sometimes retired” teacher and has been involved with photography ever since he purchased his first 35mm SLR and learned how to develop and print his own black and white images in the early 1980s. Photography went from a hobby, to a means of recording a growing family, back to being a hobby again. A self-described “Jack of all trades but master of none”, Ira is a photographic generalist who has been self-taught with lots of help from many photographers along the way.

His photographic influences range from Henri Cartier-Bresson to Zack Arias to Mike Browne and he is often found reading photographic articles or viewing photography videos. As an event photographer he has shot weddings, conventions, sports events and other gatherings.

Over the years he has given introductory photography workshops for an art group in Glovertown NL, a health convention in Gander NL and for school boards in Gander NL and Rankin Inlet NU. Along with a small group of likeminded friends he was a founding member of the Gander Photography Group, an informal camera club in Gander NL.

His fascination with the technology of modern digital cameras is why he often refers to himself as a gear junkie rather than a photographer but, to quote David duChemin, “Gear is good, vision is better”.

Since moving to Riverview NB in 2015 he became a member of the Focus Camera Club and has attended as many local photography events as possible. http://aicphotography.blogspot.ca/ is his blog site which contains many articles on photography, sample images and links to his YouTube videos. This is his second year as Vice President of the Focus Camera Club and he looks forward to an interesting and rewarding year ahead.

Selon lui-même un '' homme à tout faire et maître de rien '', Ira est un photographe généraliste autodidacte avec en cours de route beaucoup de support de plusieurs photographes.

Ses influences en photographie vont de Henri Cartier-Bresson à Zack Arias à Mike Browne  et  on le retrouve souvent en train de lire des articles de photographie ou regarder des vidéos sur le sujet. Comme photographe d’événement, il a fait des mariages, conventions, événements sportifs et autres rassemblements.

Au cour des années, il a donné des ateliers d'introduction en photographie pour un groupe en art à Glovertown, T.N.,  un congrès en santé  à Gander TN et pour des conseils scolaires à Gander  et Rankin Inlet TN. Avec un groupe d'amis partageant la même passion, il a été l'un des membres fondateurs du Gander Photography Group, un club photo informel .

Sa fascination avec la technologie numérique des appareils photo modernes est la raison principale pourquoi il se désigne  comme un ''junkie'' d'équipement plutôt qu'un photographe mais, pour citer David duChemin, '' L'équipement c'est bien, mais la vision c'est encore mieux''.

Depuis qu'il il vit à Riverview en  2015, il est devenu membre du Club Focus Camera et a participé à autant d'événements photographiques que possible.

Robert (Bob) Scott retired from the Canadian Forces in 1994 settled in Moncton with his wife Rutheen.

Since that time, Bob has participated in many projects and has had many interests including RCMP Volunteer, Hospice (Since Rutheen’s passing), Cycling, Geocaching, Cottage Life, and recently, Photography.

Although photography is his most recent interest, it has been his GO-TO activity for the past three years.

Bob enjoys Field Trips and Hands-On training as he enjoys the personal contact and tips that he learns from friends attending. He has also attended training sessions with Maurice Henri, Don Martel, and others.

Initially, he acquired and enjoyed using his Nikon 7100, but recently has decided to switch to his Olympus M1 because of the Image Stabilization features, which he says he definitely needs.

He truly enjoys all aspect of photography and hopes to progress in his ability with time.

Robert (Bob) Scott s'est retiré des Forces Canadiennes en 1994 et s'est installé à Moncton avec son épouse Rutheen.

Depuis ce temps, Bob a participé à de nombreux projets et a eu de nombreux intérêts incluant bénévole pour la GRC , Hospice ( depuis le  décès  de Rutheen), le vélo, le géocaching,  la vie de chalet,  et récemment. la photographie.

Quoique la photographie est son intérêt le plus récent, cela a été son activité de choix pour les dernières trois années.
 

Bob prend plaisir aux excursions éducatives et à la formation pratique car il apprécie le contact personnel et les trucs qu''il apprend des amis qui y prennent part. Il a aussi participé à des sessions avec Maurice Henri, Don Martel et d'autres.

Initialement, il s'est procuré  et a apprécié utiliser un Nikon 7100, mais récemment il a décidé de changer pour un Olympus M1 pour ses caractéristiques de stabilisation de l'image, lesquelles, selon lui, il a définitivement besoin.

Il aime vraiment tous les aspects de la photographie et espère progresser dans ses habiletés avec le temps.
